Info on MAEID

MAEID [Büro für Architektur und transmediale Kunst] is an interdisciplinary practice questioning the relationship between the human, space and performativity. The work needs to be understood as a seamless interaction between computation, the material and the virtual, living systems & machines.

MAEID is led by Daniela Mitterberger and Tiziano Derme.

Within the team are operating collaborating continously different professionals and artists.

2023 - Media Coordinator (open)

MAEID is looking for a part-time communication coordinator to join our team. This role is key to developing the profile of the practice through the creation of high-quality media content (e.g., online, and offline communication materials, reports, presentations, and other documents). You will work with others and support a wide range of activities across the practice. The position will start on in March 2023. It is fully funded and limited to a 1-year part-time contract with an overall hybrid commitment of 6hrs/week. Presence is only required and limited to specific team meetings.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
  • support with sourcing and editing images and animations for a website and social media
  • support with coordination and implementation of social media strategy update website as required
  • support with coordination of press requests, press releases, and award submissions internally, selecting images and drawings, and editing content
  • support with the production of PR material for new business opportunities e.g. portfolios, presentations, job sheets, CVs
  • support with content development for individual project communications strategies
  • proofreading/editing content when required
  • attend regular meetings with all team members
  • support with material for events, newsletters, and other collateral required for clients and collaborators


REQUIREMENTS
Candidates should be professionals, graduates or students enrolled in a master’s program in Architecture or a related Design discipline. Candidates should be enthusiastic about communication and media creation and be comfortable working with interdisciplinary teams. A fluent level of written and spoken English is mandatory, German is recommended.

2023 - Senior Architect / Designer (open) MAEID is looking for a Senior Architect / Designer to join our team. This role is key to the development of architectural projects in all their parts and through their entire design and construction phases. You will be offered the opportunity to advance our technical standards in the development of the project at MAEID. You will work with others and support a wide range of activities across the practice. The position will start on March 15th , 2023. It is a 80%-100% fully funded position with an overall onsite committment. If you wish to consider applying for this position, you must have a post-grad professional experience as an Architect in concept development, design development, construction documentation and construction administration. 


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROFILE

  • Candidates should have strong conceptual and design skills
  • 3-5 + years of experience with Architectural projects and design development
  • Ability to support concept development, design development, construction documentation and construction
  • Ability to develop design options in collaboration with the design team
  • Communication with client & consultant team
  • Open-minded and curious about current challenges faced by the architecture and design industry in the sustainability sector
  • Ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and models as they relate to the project
  • Good aesthetic sensibility, with an eye for detail and accuracy

  • Strong 3D modeling Skills ( Rhino, Gh ) and Abode suite

REQUIREMENTS

Candidates should be professionals, graduates holding a Bachelor’s or a Master’s in Architecture or a related Design discipline. The Candidates should have 3-5 years of in-depth professional experience in architectural firms and have worked as a core member or project manager in architectural projects through all design stages: from concept to construction. A fluent level of written and spoken English and German is mandatory.

2023 -Trainee / Design Assistant (open) MAEID is looking for a talented and self motivated student of architecture or recent graduate who are eager to learn and develop their skills. As trainee you will experience a dynamic and inspiring interdisciplinary environment and you will be involved actively in most of the activities of the studio.


KEY RESPONSIBILITIES AND PROFILE

  • Candidates should have strong conceptual and design skills 
  • Ability to develop design options in collaboration with the design team
  • Be able to take initiative in response to direction or instruction
  • Ability to prepare, develop and edit drawings and models as they relate to the project
  • Good aesthetic sensibility, with an eye for detail and accuracy

  • Strong 3D modeling Skills ( Rhino, Gh, Maya,Houdini ) and Abode suite
  • The ability to work well in a dynamic team, with a flexible and open attitude towards new ways of working and collaborating.

Candidates should be professionals, graduates or students enrolled in a master’s program in Architecture or a related Design discipline. Candidates should be enthusiastic about architectural design and comfortable working with interdisciplinary teams. A fluent level of written and spoken English is mandatory, German is recommended. If you already graduated your masters, but hold an Erasmus+ scholarship, and are allowed to do an internship up to 12 months after you graduated, you are more than welcome to apply as well.
